Notes:

1. A user found OzEfilter would keep timing out.

The problem was the Norton Internet Security firewall. Turning off this firewall fixed the problem (the Windows XP firewall was still enabled). In this situation you will need to determine how to allow OzEfilter to pass through the firewall. This also applies to other software firewalls, but not the firewall built into Windows XP. We can't offer assistance with firewalls due to the large range of software firewalls available.

2. OzEfilter and Windows Vista

We now release two versions of OzEfilter. One for Windows XP and one for Windows Vista. The only difference is Windows XP installs the program in C:\Program Files\OzEfilter and Windows Vista installs the program in the C:\OzEfilter folder. Use the appropriate version of OzEfilter for your operating system.

3. Run time Error 9

This error appears to occur because the mail server at that point in time takes too long to respond. That is the work load on their mail servers may be excessive which will clear up in time. Lyne Marshall of Art Clique (www.artclique.com.au) found a short term work around was to simply download load the emails including the unwanted spam at that point in time. Thank you Lyne for the tip.

4. The log file starts in a small window.

The log file is displayed using Notepad. The size of the Notepad window is set by Windows and is the size you last resized the Notepad window to. To enlarge the Notepad window drag the edges of the window. Thanks to Gavin for the question.
